"The Vampire Diaries" hot actor Ian Somerhalder was reported to be in negotiation with the producers of "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie.

The rumor mill for the casting in the much awaited film adaptation of E.L. James' erotic novel never ends. Entertainmentwise reported earlier that one of the frontrunners for the Christian Grey role, Ian Somerhalder, is meeting with the producers.

However, the producers Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti debunked these rumors via Twitter. The producers said that they are focused in finding a screenwriter for the film adaptation.

"Maybe [Somerhalder] was lied to by a certain someone? Nonetheless, we're only meeting with the writers [for now]," Dana Brunetti tweeted yesterday on Twitter.

The rumor started when a new video of Somerhalder telling his excited fans that there were plans to meet with the movie makers made their way to YouTube.com at a "Vampire Diaries" TV show convention, many fans believed that the movie casting may have begun even earlier than expected.

Last month, it was reported that Harry Potter alumnae Emma Watson is one of the frontrunners for the female lead. However, the British actress reacted to the rumors attaching her name to the movie adaptation of the popular erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey."

To the dismay of many people, there is no truth to the ongoing rumors and the actress is not casted. The actress made it clear that she has not received a phone call yet from the producers or director of the much awaited film.

"I haven't read the book, I haven't read a script, nothing. There are so many movies you become attached to when I've literally never even received a phone call. It was the same way with 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' - I never even saw a script!" the actress told Entertainment Weekly.
