Ian Somerhalder on Twitter: 'Vampire Diaries' Actor Back in Atlanta, Shares Experience with Dr. Greg Stone on Fabien Cousteau's Mission 31 [WATCH VIDEO]
"Vampire Diaries" actor Ian Somerhalder uses social media sites in giving updates to his fans on what he has been up to since the CW TV series went on a break from his designation as UNEP Goodwill Ambassador to his hand injury and trip to China. Recently, the 35-year-old actor shared on Twitter is headed back to Atlanta as he recalls his cool experience in Fabien Cousteau's Mission 31.
According to the BSCKids report, Ian Somerhalder returned to Atlanta because it is the filming location of "The Vampire Diaries" and where his personal offices are. The report further suggests the reason why the actor returned is to be on track when filming "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 kicks off this coming July.
"Coming home to you America, and having to leave my Chinese family. What an amazing summer of experience, work, play, environment. Thank you fans, ISF Family, cities, countries and companies that have hosted me," Ian Somerhalder posted on his Twitter account @iansomerhalder with an Instagram image attached. Ian Somerhalder continued to post about missing the Mission 31 experience with Fabien Costeau, who inspired the actor with the protection methods for the ocean. Ian thanked Nedo Bellucci as well for the amazing jacket that he made.
"I've got French on my head, Italian on my shoulders, a big American plane to fly me home, Europe, Brazil, Mexico and China kissing me with memories and Georgia on my mind," the actor further wrote in the Instagram image caption.
The actor shared as well to his fans the Mission 31 experience that he had with a YouTube video published last Wednesday, June 11, where he visited Fabien Cousteau during Mission 31 together with Dr. Greg Stone, scientist with Conservation International. The group gathered underwater to talk about the oceans' state and ways on how to protect them.
However, Ian Somerhalder's return in Atlanta made him feel the exhaustion from his trips and shared about being flattened from his movement for two months on Twitter and Instagram. "On the floor of my Atlanta office-staring blankly at the ceiling, motionless;) Wow. Hyperbaric time," the actor wrote. Click HERE to see photo.
Ian's busy schedule is not yet over even though he is on a filming break from the CW TV series. The actor and philanthropist further shared in the Instagram post that he must prepare and need more strength for another congressional testimony in Washington on the international species conservation.
As for his TV series "The Vampire Diaries," filming is scheduled to kick off in July 2014. Ian Somerhalder's character, Damon Salvatore, is currently gone after the Other Side collapsed but TVD executive producer Julie Plec has confirmed that fans will still see Damon when "The Vampire Diaries" return with Season 6 on the CW Network in October 2014.
