Ian Somerhalder: 'Vampire Diaries' Actor to Attend the 2014 Kids’ Choice Awards as Presenter

Nickelodeon has announced the first wave of presenters and performers at the 2014 Kids' Choice Awards this March. "Vampire Diaries" actor Ian Somerhalder will be attending the awards ceremony as a presenter, the Hollywood Reporter confirms.

The other presenters confirmed to appear during the live telecast are "House of Lies" actress Kristen Bell and "Arrested Development" actor Will Arnett. The report further confirmed that indie band American Authors will be taking the stage as well to perform their single "Best Day of My Life" and Aloe Blacc will be doing a medley on "Wake Me Up" and "The Man."

"We're such big fans of Nickelodeon and the Kids Choice Awards! It's an honor to be performing on the show March 29th, we can't wait! PLEASE SLIME US!!!!" American Authors excitedly declared in a statement. The Brooklyn-based band with their "Best Day of My Life" single reached the No. 1 spot on the US Billboard Adult Pop Songs chart and they made appearances in the CW series "The Carrie Diaries" as well as "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty."

As for Aloe Blacc, the singer revealed that he looks forward to his very first Kids' Choice Awards performance. "Can't wait to sing 'Wake Me Up' and 'The Man' with all my fans," Aloe Blacc stated. The top nominees that are competing in getting an award include "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," One Direction, Katy Perry and Nickelodeon's "Sam & Cat."

The 2014 Kid's Choice Awards is scheduled to air live on Saturday, March 29, at 8 pm ET/PT on Nickelodeon with actor Mark Wahlberg hosting the awards show. Fans can catch at the upcoming event their favorite TVD star Ian Somerhalder, who has been busy making appearances in different locations this March.

It has been previously reported that the 35-year-old actor took a break from the busy schedule of filming scenes in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 upcoming episodes to attend the 2014 SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas on Saturday, March 8, and the Mardi Paws Dog Parade at the Mandeville Lakefront on Sunday, March 9.

Watch Ian Somerhalder as Damon Salvatore, currently a "Ripper" vampire in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 Episode 16 titled "While You Were Sleeping." The brand new episode is scheduled to air on Thursday night, March 20, at 8 pm ET on the CW Network.
