Ian Somerhalder of 'Vampire Diaries' Encourages People to Use Goodshop To-Go to Support ISF [VIDEOS]

Ian Somerhalder of the CW TV series "Vampire Diaries" is encouraging people to use Goodshop To-Go to support his foundation, The Ian Somerhalder Foundation (ISF). Goodshop To-Go is a Web site that reportedly allows online shoppers to earn up to 20% of each of their purchases for their chosen cause or charity. Plus, it gives more than 100,000 coupons for users which enables them to not only save some money but also to donate with every purchase. What's great is that this service is free!

Christmas is fast approaching and we all know what that means. It's gift giving crunch time! And with the popularity of online shopping on the rise because of its convenience, more and more people are going on the Internet and buying stuff there, especially gifts.

Ian Somerhalder's ISF has partnered with Goodshop To-Go, which is part of goodsearch.com. Aside from the details being found on both Goodshop To-Go and the ISF Web sites, Somerhalder also tweeted it to his followers on his official Twitter account.

The ISF Web site indicates that aside from the 20% that goes back to ISF anytime users shop online using Goodshop To-Go, Goodshop will also donate an additional $5 when shoppers make their first purchase with any of the 3,000 plus online merchants until Dec. 31, 2013. Also, if Goodsearch is used as a default search engine, 1 cent will be earned every time a search is made online. Plus, users will get coupon alerts for sales and discounts.

According to Goodshop To-Go, almost 15 million people have already raised nearly $10 million dollars for over 100,000 schools and non-profits just by using their Web site and search engine.

The participating 2,800 stores in Goodshop To-Go include Amazon, Toys R Us, Sephora, Macy's, Target, PetCo and Staples.

Aside from ISF, other schools and non-profits who are participating in goodsearch.com's project include the Illinois Alaskan Malamute Rescue Association (IAMRA), The Institute for the Development of Earth Awareness (IDEA), Salvation Army - Greater Cleveland, Spay and Neuter Team of Atlanta (SANTA), Philippines River of Life, Third World Charities, CARES Suicide Prevention, CAFVIC - The Battered Womens Program, Immaculate Conception Our Lady of Perpetual Help School and the Sacred Heart Catholic School - Homestead.
