Iggy Azalea Receives Divorce Papers From Ex Without Ever Getting Married To Him
Iggy Azalea's legal troubles do not seem to be ending very soon. A new case has come up where the rapper is being served with divorce papers--without ever getting married. The rapper is still in shock as her ex-boyfriend, Hefe Wine, filed for divorce. Azalea, however, has denied any marriage or promise of marriage with her ex.
On the other hand, Wine claimed that they were married under common-law rule prevalent in Texas. As per the state's law, any couple who live together under one roof in the State of Texas for any length of time, as well as agreed to marry each other and pose in front of others as man and wife, are considered legally married.
As per the divorce paper, a copy of which is obtained by TMZ, Wine cited the same Texas rule for the document he filed. In accordance with the rules, Wine is also asking the rapper to share the wealth and other assets they have allegedly accumulated as a couple over that period of time.
A source close to Azalea has lashed out at her ex-boyfriend for such greedy behavior. The source told Daily News that they dated only for six months and Azalea was never married or promised to marry Wines. This is just another attempt to grab some of Azalea's money, as claimed by the source.
Azalea is already in a legal mess with Wines on the matter of unlawfully releasing her music tracks which she has penned down in early stage of her career. The rapper is claiming that the music is being released without seeking her permission.
The couple was also caught in a sex tape scandal after the release of a sex video footage found on a discarded computer. It was reportedly found by the Vivid Entertainment's porn mogul. The rapper accused that she was only 18 years old at the time the intimate moment had been filmed, as well as asserted that she was not completely aware of anything being shot at that time. In addition, Azalea accused Wines of selling the footage intentionally while the latter denied all allegations.
Wines' claims of his marriage are not supported by any document or paper. However, if the idea of this 'sham marriage' gets approved and validated by a judge, the rapper's music will become part of the property of the former couple and the profits would have to be shared equally between the two of them.
