Iggy Azalea Stands By BF Nick Young Following His Thumb Surgery
A significant element of any relationship is being there for each other no matter how busy life gets. Iggy Azalea has just been a supportive partner to Los Angeles Lakers star and boyfriend Nick Young following his thumb surgery on October 6
TMZ Sports caught Iggy with Nick when he checked out of the hospital after the thumb surgery. Iggy was sporting a casual look, while Nick was being wheeled out by a medical staff. She had her hair tied up in a bun at the back. She also had a pair of sunglasses on. Iggy was wearing a black long sleeves shirt and a figure-hugging red miniskirt. She also donned a pair of flats to complete her casual look.
Nick also shared a picture of his stay at the hospital on Instagram. "#It's time #PrayForMe #ThisIsWhatHappenWhenYouGuardKobe #DefenseHurt," he captioned the photo.
According to ESPN, Nick tore his radial collateral ligament in his right thumb while guarding teammate Kobe Bryant during practice on October 2. Nick went through Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and it revealed a tear in his right thumb. The operation was reportedly performed by Dr. Steven Shin of the Kerlan-Jobe Ortophaedic Clinic. Nick will miss eight weeks of the regular season because of his injury.
Young has averaged his career-high 17.9 points and 1.5 assists per game for the Lakers in the last season. He just recently signed with the Lakers for a four-year contract worth $21 million. Nick's time off the team will mean he will have more time to spend with his flawless singer-rapper girlfriend Iggy.
Meanwhile, Kobe is reportedly excited that he is in fine fettle for the upcoming regular season. Kobe has had his share of injuries recently that made him sit out, after only playing for six games, the rest of the last season.
As for Nick's injury, Kobe isn't really feeling repentant. He joked and said that Nick has to move his feet on defense. "That's the lesson to be learned, you reach then you're going to get hurt," Kobe said during the Lakers' Real Training Camp series on National Basketball Association (NBA) TV. NBA editor and SB Nation's Mike Prada shared the video of Kobe talking about Nick on the popular video sharing service Vine.
