I’m the Girl You Take Home to Your Parents, Not For The Night,' Says Selena Gomez [VIDEO]
Selena Gomez is looking classy and perfect in the latest issue of "Teen Vogue" magazine where she opens up about her friend Taylor Swift, love life and also dishes out some secrets about her junk food diet. The actress looks fresh-faced as she poses in girly attire on the cover page of the magazine. The 21-year-old revealed she does not believe in one night stands but in long term relationships. She inspires to be (or considers herself to be) one girl that a guy can easily take home to his mother.
"I'm always going to be the girl you want to take home to your parents, not for the night," the "Come and Get It" singer tells Teen Vogue in the issue out November 19. She also reveals how love can be distracting for people.
"You fall in love and it completely consumes you," Gomez tells the magazine further revealing how her mind is confused when she is in love.
"So a part of you is broken when that's gone. And part of you wants to have that rebellious feeling where you're just like, forget it-I can do anything I want. I've tried it, and I've never been that girl," says Selena who has split form teenage pop sensation Justin Bieber earlier this year.
So how has she tackled her break-up and is she planning to get back with the "Heartbreaker" singer?
The "Spring Breakers" actress chooses to skip the reconciliation question and says she would rather commit mistakes like these again and then learn from her experiences.
"The older I've gotten, the more I've learned that I have to open myself up to all opportunities. Maybe I'll get burned and not meet the right people, but I won't know until I do it," she says.
The actress also talked about how she aspires to be like fellow singer Taylor Swift. Selena, who still lives with her parents, says she wants to learn from the "Love Story" singer.
"The difference between Taylor and me is she was sixteen with the confidence of a 25-year-old. Actually, I should say 80-year-old, because she's such an old soul. I was not that way. I was very sheltered until about eighteen or nineteen," Selena says.
"I still live at home, and I'm 21! She does inspire me like crazy, but I wouldn't change my path, because it allowed me to figure out all that stuff and do it on my own," she reveals.
On her likeliness for junk food, Selena says she loves to eat all of it and hates exercise. So how does she maintain her slim figure? Selena's secret is to stay active.
"I eat junk. I'm from the South, so I love Mexican food, greasy pasta, and fried things. I do try, every now and then, to put something in my body that will be good, but, honestly, I've never liked working out," Selena dishes out her secrets.
"I need to be active in some way, though-that's why I kind of secretly do it for my show. We have thirteen choreographed pieces, and it's a 90-minute set. I consider that my workout!," Selena reveals making a workout look very easy.
