'Inception' leads in foreign box office
"Inception" led the foreign box office for a second weekend on Sunday (August 8, 2010) earning about $46.6 million from 58 markets. The movie opened no. 1 in Spain and no. 2 in Brazil, with a combined $6.5 million.
Director Christopher Nolan's sci-fi thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio has a total foreign box office take of $250 million, with the U.K. ($39.4 million) and Japan ($23.7 million) consisting a significant part of the sales.
However, "Inception" slipped to number two in the US Box office, after cop comedy "The Other Guys" beat it with $35 million sales in its opening weekend. Nolan's film registered more than $18 million in ticket sales. "The Other Guys" star Will Ferell, Mark Wahlberg, and Eva Mendes.
