Indian authorities cancel Bryan Adams show in India
Thousands of fans failed to see Bryan’s show, cancelled by authorities for fears of public safety
Police authorities in New Delhi , India has canceled the show of singer, Bryan Adams, hours before it began. Citing fear for public safety, the authorities said the show’s organizers failed to provide them the required parameters and plans in managing the public security of the event.
An estimated 20,000 people are expected to attend Bryan's performance at the NSIC exhibition center in New Delhi. But no clearance certificate had been issued to the organizers, said the police, for lack of safety measures established before the show.
“The organizers failed to explain as to how they would manage law and order inside the ground and traffic outside,” police officer, V. Chahal was quoted as saying by the Agence France Press.
“We cannot risk people’s lives. Everything has to be in place before the event begins,’ the police official added.
Adams is scheduled to perform in India, Bangladesh and Nepal and according to AFP, the singer swas also lined-up to perform at the opening ceremony of the cricket World Cup in Dhaka on Thursday.
