Producer Frank Marshall has confirmed that the plot of “Indiana Jones 5” will be a continuing story of the Crystal Skulls. The producer also confirmed that they will not be replacing Harrison Ford in any of the future movies, just to keep the franchise going for years.

“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” was released in the year 2008. Although the movie was not as spectacular as some of the earlier movies from the franchise, it did well in the box office. Now, the next movie will continue the same story line, Variety reports.

The 2008 movie told the story of an alien Crystal Skull that the Soviet Union is interested in. Indiana (Ford) is forced to wear his hat once again and help uncover the secret behind the skull and where it came from.

Ford will be reprising his role as the whip wielding hero and currently he is the only confirmed cast member of “Indiana Jones 5.” Producer Marshall said that the movie franchise was not like the James Bond movies, in which a new actor is chosen to play the spy every few years.

“We think those characters are iconic, and those are the only actors who can play that.” Marshall said about Ford’s character and Matt Damon’s Bourne series. Damon’s next movie as the former assassin is titled “Jason Bourne” and it will be released on July 29 this year.

After finishing his “Star Wars” commitments, Ford will be busy filming two other projects. The veteran actor has been cast in “Official Secrets” and an unnamed “Blade Runner” movie.

Steven Spielberg will be directing “Indiana Jones 5.” The movie will be released on July 19, 2019 in the US. The release date of the movie in Australia is yet to be announced. Details about the filming schedule are expected to be announced soon along with casting.
