Tony Abbott is expected to discuss terrorism, submarines and Indonesia’s death penalty when he meets French President Francois Hollande in Paris. On the other hand, there are images which depict that Indonesia has already finished engraving the crosses for Bali Nine convicts.

As Bali Nine convicts are waiting to be executed within the next few hours, Abbott finds Hollande as a sympathiser of his cause to save Australia drug smugglers in Indonesia. Australia's campaign against Indonesia's execution of Bali Nine convicts may find a supporter in Hollande.

There is a possibility that both the countries work together to prevent the executions of France's Serge Atlaoui and Australians Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran.

According to reports, Atlaoui has been granted a temporary pardon after the French government’s pressurised for it. Abbott and his French counterpart may also agree on a common diplomatic tactic in case Indonesia does not pay heed to the requests of Australia and France.

However, time may be running out for Australia and France to save their citizens if there are still any possibilities to do so. Images show that the date April 29, 2015 is being engraved on the crosses for the executed criminals. At the same time, RIP is also engraved with the names of Mary Jane Fiesta, Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran.

Abbott said that he would like to discuss new measures with Hollande on how to reduce violent extremism and tackle foreign fighters. Hollande is going to organise an international climate summit later in 2015. He will ask for greater co-operation from Australian on climate action. He may ask Australia to announce its updated emissions reduction target in coming months. There are also speculations that there may be talks about a European Union free trade agreement.

Abbott was earlier asked to get Australian counter-terrorism unit introduced to its French counterpart. The French unit worked on a terrorist siege in Paris in January while the Australian unit tackled the Sydney Siege in December.

Jean-Michel Fauvergue, the commander of RAID, asked Abbott to put him in touch with the Australian team. He met Abbott on Sunday and discussed how France and Australia could share intelligence in a better way to counter modern terrorism tactics.
