‘Injustice 2’ Cheetah update: Combat style, moves & special power discussed; Robin crash lands
A new “Injustice 2” trailer has introduced the playable character Cheetah. Warner Bros and NetherRealm Studios have first announced Cheetah as a playable character in February. The game will be released on May 16 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (PS4).
According to Gematsu, the list of playable characters in the game confirmed up to now are Wonder Woman, Superman, Supergirl, Harley Quinn, Gorilla Grodd, Deadshot, Flash, Batman, Robin, Blue Beetle, Atrocitus, Darkseid (pre-order bonus), Aquaman, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Black Canary, Doctor Fate, Firestorm and Cheetah. The newly announced playable character Cheetah was previously revealed in the Valentine’s Day video “Here Comes The Girls.” However, the recently released gameplay trailer shows her move-set and play-style.
In the “Injustice 2” trailer shared below, Cheetah looks menacing and impossible to beat as she soars across the screen through a downward pounce attack. Her follow-up aerial combos are brutal. The only possible drawback is the lack of ranged moves. Thus, players need to cover distance quickly and throw their enemies in a corner for maximum damage. Cheetah can easily juggle opponents and decrease their health at quick intervals. As per TWINFINITE, Cheetah does not take much time between hits.
Cheetah’s super-move may not be the greatest but it does bring back memories of famous DC villain Bane, mainly because of the spine break. Cheetah remains one of Wonder Woman’s most famous adversaries. This will however be her first appearance in the “Injustice” universe. The new video also provides a glimpse of the changes to the environmental stage. As per WWG, the character makes extensive use of her claws and shreds opponents to pieces. Her powerful legs make the enemies susceptible to mid-air juggles.
Cheetah is also equally brutal at medium range. She juggles and mixes quick strikes with three and four-hit combos. The enemy pushes back failing to keep up with her strikes. This creates some space and Cheetah then goes for the kill. The video shows Deadshot taking a hop towards her and that’s a mistake surely. Cheetah is capable of grabbing an opponent in mid-air too. That’s exactly what she does, catching Deadshot in mid-boost, and then swinging and slamming him to the ground.
Cheetah in “Injustice 2” will quickly become a player favourite, especially for those who are technical fighters and like to keep their opponents guessing. The new stage transition is also pretty brutal, as Robin smashes into the Batwing and powers up the Auto Pilot. He is seen barely hanging in there as the vehicle zips through a launch tunnel and goes straight through a wall to the next section of the stage.
