'Inside Amy Schumer' releases Season 4 promo with 'Game of Thrones' theme; includes spoilers about Jon Snow [VIDEO]
“Inside Amy Schumer” is gearing up for its fourth season this month, and Comedy Central’s hit show is riding on the popularity of “Game of Thrones” to promote its upcoming installment.
In a teaser titled “Schwinter is Coming,” the 34-year-old comedian is seen riding a white horse amid a winter-themed background. “On April 21st, ‘Inside Amy Schumer’ returns,” she says. She then drops with a shocking spoiler. “Jon Snow is definitely alive… because he said no to doing our show,” she reveals.
The promotional video earned mixed reactions from social media users. Some expressed that they are eagerly anticipating the show’s return. Facebook user Jillian Spiwak Smulyan wrote, “Sooo excited for Amy! Clever, funny, beautiful, down to earth and never sugar coats anything!” Terri Johnson, on the other hand, said, “I never wanted to be inside a woman so much! Can’t wait! LOL”
However, others chided the “Trainwreck” star, especially over reports that she’s stealing material from other comedians. Facebook user Joseph Keeper wrote, “Oh look, her writers must have found more jokes to steal.” Meanwhile, Rebecca Ann Nance commented, “Kinda don’t blame Jon Snow for not wanting to do the show. Even a fictional character has more sense not to be on this show.”
Schumer also shared the video on her Twitter account. She posted two behind the scene photos, and in the caption used the hashtag #roadmanager handling me a tampon and #period piece.
Earlier in March, “Inside Amy Schumer” also posted a sneak peek. Titled “The Diagnosis,” it shows Schumer at a doctor’s clinic. The doctor grimly tells the comedian that she’s been overexposed, saying she’s everywhere such as on magazines and Instagram. When she asks what the cure is, the doctor advises, “Go away for a while. No late-night TV show appearances, no podcasts, and do not go back to your basic cable TV show.” However, Schumer decides to defy the doctor’s orders. “No can do, doc. I’ve got to follow my heart – keep exposing myself,” she says.
