Intel Stops at Nothing, Company to Release Haswell-E, Kick Ass Features Include DDR4 support, X99 PCH and 8 Cores
Intel just released their newest Haswell processor and it is making waves. People would think the tech giant will stop for a while as the craze over their fourth-generation continues but they are not the leading player for nothing. Intel announced that it will be releasing Haswell-E in 2014 and it is even better.
Imagine an 8-core processor complete with the capabilities of the fourth generation. Intel is stopping at nothing to prove that they remain to be the leading company in manufacturing processors and chips. Intel promises an even better and higher performing chip in the coming year.
Intel's Haswell-E platform will arrive in the second half of 2014. It will be the company's first 8-core desktop CPU. People can expect some serious improvements in their desktops once Haswell-E starts rolling out. There are also speculations that Intel will give consumers more options between between 6- and 8-core CPUs plus exceptional 20MB of L3 cache.
It does not stop there. CPUs with 8 cores mean people can have access to Hyper-Threading. This means 16 logical cores. Haswell may be able to achieve maximum TDP at approximately 130-140W with the processor. Stats can be around 22nm second-generation Hi-k process. In terms of performance, the added CPU cores along with other architecture upgrades spell 30-50% increase in performance.
Intel will launch Haswell-E with Wellsburg family - next generation of motherboard shipments. The chip set will set the pace for DDR4 support clocked at 2133MHz. This offers more room for overclocking. Features for the Wellsburg X-PCH include:
- Up to 6 x USB 3.0 ports
- Up to 8 x USB 2.0 ports
- Up to 10 x SATA 6Gbps ports
- Integrated Clock support
- TDP of 6.5W
People should also expect Quad-channel DDR4. Speed options come in 1333MHz, 1600MHz, 1866MHz and 2133MHz. The huge performance increases and stats should wait for another few months until Intel finally unleashes another set of chips and processors.
