Interview With a Vampire: Pattinson Shifting to the Music Genre
What are the chances of you seeing an immortal high school vampire sparkling every time the sun shines? If you've ever seen that, chances are that you're going to want to see him sing too.
Well, fansmay want to schedule a rain check because Twilight's own British heartthrob Robert Pattinson hasn't sunk his teeth into whether or not he will be recording his own solo album.
"I mean, maybe one day ... I'm always playing and recording but I don't know," Pattinson said in an interview with TF1. "People hate when actors become musicians so I've been avoiding it for the longest possible."
No one can blame him though, imagine if Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe recorded a solo album, what would he write about, rather, sing about? Okay, bad comparison.
But sure enough it was a wise decision on Pattinson's part. Musician turned actor maybe good, ala Jack Black, but actors turned musicians? It depends on whether the fans will accept him or not, it all depends on image. Longtime fans have accepted him as the cool sexy conservative vampire and not a rockstar guitar chugging dude you see on MTV.
The harsh criticism he gets from non-Twilight fans doesn't help either. There is a multitude of haters out there who will swarm at the very moment he releases that album. This is a major part of whole reason of all the hesitancy to produce an album such as this, we will never know.
Maybe the way a Justin Beiber hater hates a Justin Beiber release, an Edward Cullen hater will hate an Edward Cullen release. "maybe one day." Sure, an immortal high school vampire has all of eternity to wait for that day. And surely enough, that multitude of haters may die of old age
