iOS 7 Jailbreak: Untethered Jailbreak Keeps Downgrade Possible [GUIDE]
The Jailbreak team has been keeping the iOS 7 jailbreak under wraps while they are working on it. After the iOS 7 launch, Apple hasn't signed for iOS 6 and the previous operating systems, which mean that users cannot downgrade.
If the user has upgraded his Apple iPhone to iOS 7 and wants to downgrade back to iOS 6, he would need to wait for the jailbreak. Apple iPhone 4 owners may revert back to iOS 6 only if they have saved the SHSH blobs and have a computer at hand.
Apple iPhone 4 users can go back to iOS 6 if they have iTunes 11.0.5 and use iFaith. If you want to do this, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Connect your iPhone 4 to the computer using a USB cable.
Step 2: Look for your SHSH blobs. You can use iFaith to locate it, in case you don't know where you've saved it. Launch the iFaith application and click OK. Choose "Show Available SHSH Cache on Sever." Confirm it by clicking "yes" and select "show list of available SHSH blobs on TSS server/s." You should see a list and select the one you want. Exit iFaith.
Step 3: Relaunch iFaith and select "Build *signed* IPSW w/ blobs" then browse for SHSH blobs and choose the one you just saved earlier. You would need the iOS 6 firmware. You can download iOS 6.1.3 here.
Step 4: Once the download is complete, select "Build IPSW." Remember the IPSW name created and wait for it to finish. Be patient as this could take a long time.
Step 5: Once complete, click OK to continue and place your iPhone 4 into DFU mode by pressing the Sleep/Wake button and slide the power off.
Step 6: Click START on iFaith and follow the instructions in the screen. This is to press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for 10 seconds, release the Sleep/Wake button while still holding the Home button for 30 seconds. The iFaith will prompt that the iPhone 4 is in DFY mode. Exit iFaith.
Step 7: Start iTunes. iTunes should detect the iPhone 4 in recovery mode and once detected, click OK.
Step 8: Hold down the Shift button and click the "Restore iPhone" button in the Summary pane. Browse to the IPSW file you created with iFaith and choose it. This process could take a while so it's best to leave it and be patient until it's done.
Follow the instructions onscreen and this should complete the installation. At this point, you should have gotten rid of iOS 7 and back on iOS 6 where you are free to jailbreak your iPhone.
