Has the iOS 7 slowed down the older iPhones and iPads? Especially the ones with only 512 MB RAM? Some of the users of the Apple devices complain of problems with multi tasking in the new iOS 7 for older devices.

The main multi tasking problem that some iPhone and iPad users face, apart from the sluggishness, is the page refresh that happens once they move to another app like Mail. Once the user comes back to the first app instead of showing the part of the page where the user had scrolled down to, the app refreshes the page and the user will need to scroll down again.

The problem could be particularly annoying to users who have typed some information on a page, if the user opens another app and returns to the page all typed information is lost. Similarly if the user has opened the iBooks app and moves to another app, upon returning the user will find that the book has to be opened again.

The issue is mostly faced by users' older devices like the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. Some of the iPad users are also facing this problem, especially iPad 2 users. It must be noted that not all users have raised this problem. Some users may not require multi tasking while others do not face this problem.

One possible solution to this problem is to update the iOS 7 to the iOS 7.0.3. The problem would be solved for many users but it may still persist for other users. Apple has been coming up with updates to its operating system from time to time to fix the remaining bugs that some users are encountering.

One of the reasons why some of the users continue to face problems is probably the low specs on the older iOS 7 devices, especially the RAM. The limited memory on some of the devices has its limits. Using multiple apps or apps requiring too much resource could slow the device down.

Apple has been releasing multiple devices every year with an upgraded operating system. The iOS 7 may not be the best operating system for the older devices and many of the users facing multiple problems simply choose to trade in their device for a newer device. Will Apple come up with a solution for the problems faced by users of its older devices? Or will users have no choice but to upgrade?
