iOS and Android Users: Experience the BlackBerry 10 Through Your Smartphone
It seems that BlackBerry is really lobbying to get the BlackBerry 10 out there for potential users to experience and maybe get them to switch loyalties.
The BlackBerry Glimpse Page allows Android and iOS users to try out some of the more celebrated features of the BB10 OS including the BlackBerry hub, the Time Shift feature for photos, and switching applications, reports Wall Street Journal.
The demo has been heavily scripted to be fitted and formatted to the smartphone, so that it will seem like you are actually using the features.
The in-browser trial is not an emulation, and according to CNet, you will be walked through the whole experience, from the predictive keyboard to the BBM Video and Screen Share via dots highlighting the areas where you would need to tap to get to the next screen.
Given how BlackBerry wants users to know that its flagship devices and OS are worth worrying the competition, this is a great move to give it some boost to existing non-users, reports TechCrunch.
However, the preview will still have a more bogged down feel compared to the actual operation of the BB10 on the Z10, so that should not be taken as a point of the OS.
It seems like BlackBerry's campaign is taking on a life of its own and a 360-degree angle, even targeting non-users (or rather, especially them). Let's see what this will bring for BlackBerry's numbers.
BlackBerry 7 goes to emerging markets
With the BlackBerry 10 OS now at the forefront of BlackBerry's campaigns, it would seem that the BlackBerry 7 OS is nothing but old news.
However, according to SlashGear, CEO Thorsten Heins still has plans for the older OS. Emerging markets, especially those that have stayed true to BlackBerry, will launch BlackBerry 7 devices, as well as those with the newer BlackBerry 10 OS.
"We are not excluding those markets from BlackBerry 10 because of us wanting to sell BlackBerry 7," said Heins to SlashGear.
These markets can look forward to other features that tie in with the BBM, such as the BBM Money.
