iPad 3 or iPad HD?
There are many news reports stating that Apple will call their new iPad model as the iPad HD instead of iPad 3. The said name is based on its new standout feature which is its higher-resolution Retina display.
iPad HD
The name change of iPad HD seems to make sense according to some experts due to the fact that it will feature higher resolution Retina display. According to rumors, it would feature a 2048 x 1536 pixel display which is much higher as compared to iPad 2 which only had a 1024 x 768 pixel display. This means that users would have a better and sharper viewing experience when using the new iPad model.
Despite the significant improvement in terms of display, this change can also be a challenge in some departments. One of which would be for developers to also adjust their graphics in adapt with the high-resolution offering by Apple. Aside from that, storage capacity can also be affected since a high-resolution iPad would also equate to high storage capacity in order to support this feature. In the current market, this new high-resolution display can only be rivaled by Asus Transformer Pad Infinity 700 which has a 10.1-inch 1920 x 1200 display resolution.
4G LTE Connectivity
Another strong rumor regarding the newest iPad is its ability to support 4G LTE (Long-Term Evolution) network. This technology can offer 10 times more speed as compared to the current 3G technology. It would enable users to access faster and view videos at a much stable speed. If this feature in the new iPad would push through, telecommunication providers would be able to largely benefit from this. UBS analysts John Hodulik remarked shared his thoughts about this matter stating that "It's going to dramatically improve video consumption. This is the device people want. They want the fastest speed. They want high resolution." So far, Apple and other network providers declined to comment about this subject.
Apple's Current Status
