iPhone 5 Chinese Consumer Tasered After Attempts of Purchasing Numerous Units at The Apple Store [VIDEO]
A Chinese woman's interest in purchasing numerous iPhone 5 units unfortunately got her stunned with a taser gun. The incident happened in an Apple Store at the Pheasant Lane Mall in New Hampshire.
Xiaojie Li already purchased two iPhone 5 units on December 7 at an Apple Store in Nashua, New Hampshire. On Tuesday, she returned to purchase two more units claiming that it was for her family in China.
The Apple Store employees refused to sell the iPhone 5 to the Chinese woman as per company's policy of two iPhone units only per person. The employees asked the Chinese woman to leave the store's premises. When she resisted, security and the police were then notified of the situation.
According to the police, they had to make use of the taser gun to restrain the woman. Then, they charged her with trespassing and resisting arrest. According to CNN Money, Xiaojie Li was carrying approximately $16,000 in cash at the time of arrest.
Meanwhile, Xiaojie Li was mortified and crying when her 12-year-old daughter Jiao Jay translated for her in a local television station interview. The 44-year-old Chinese woman stated she does not understand English so she had no idea she was asked to leave the Apple Store. "So my mom says she don't know why they called police because she doesn't understand what they are talking about," Jiao Jay interpreted.
According to Xiaojie, she did buy two iPhone 5 units and the employees told her about the limit. When she claimed that other consumers were also buying numerous units with evidence, the store manager already asked her to leave.
Xiaojie Li then decided to order the two more iPhone units online and come back to pick up the items. When she returned to the store, the police claimed that the Apple Store already issued an order for the Chinese woman to stay away.
"So then the police took my mom's phone and tried to take my mom's bag. And my mom tried to ask them why, and they just throw her on the ground. My mom is really upset about what they did and so it's a free country and she just took a picture of what she thinks they did wrong," Jiao said.
After the incident, the police force is now reviewing the use of a Taser gun.
