iPhone 5 vs HTC One: 5 Ways the 'One' is Killing Apple iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 Anticipation

HTC One has been drawing a lot of attention since it was announced last month and unveiled last week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It is frequently being compared to iPhone 5 in many tech sites.The new flagship smartphone of the Taiwanese tech player even won "Best Device in Show" at the MWC. Considering very good mobile specs, those who have been holding out for the iPhone 5s or iPhone 6 are being pulled in by the "One."

Here are 5 ways the HTC One is (slowly) killing the anticipation for iPhone 5s and iPhone 6:

1. Stunning screen display. HTC One sports a Super LCD 3 capacitive screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and pixel density of 468 pixels per inch. The iPhone 5 screen features only 326 ppi at 640 × 1136 pixels in resolution. Rumour has it that the next Apple devices will have outstanding ppi figures, but how can buyers resist what is already available for something with no official release date yet?

2. Impressive processor-memory match. HTC One has Quad-core 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 and 2 GB of DDR2 RAM. This beats the dual-core CPU in the Apple A6 chipset in the iPhone 5.

3. Form and style. The HTC One is looking sexy in a metallic chassis that comes in silver and black. Apple fans always say they know they are holding something exquisite when they use an Apple device. Now MWC reviewers are saying the same thing about HTC One.

4. Zoe Camera. HTC One is boasting of Zoe (gallery improvement), Blinkfeed (Flipboard-looking home screen), BoomSound (best ever, reportedly) and Ultrapixels (great snaps in low light). The Zoe feature is expected to have the strongest pull for how it changes the experience of mobile photography. Zoe makes user's gallery come alive in an intelligent fashion. 5. HTC One Price. In Australia, the 32GB iPhone 5 can be bought outright for about AU$900. The Australian reported it is expecting AU$750 for the HTC One price tag. This price difference can attract some buyers, but not when there's little specs difference between two gadgets. In this case, the HTC One stands very promising against the predicted and rumoured features of iPhone 5s or iPhone 6 (bigger screen, lighter weight, quad-core processor).

On top of the abovementioned considerations, there is the waiting period that is becoming more difficult to manage with the release of powerful smartphones from HTC, Samsung, and Sony among others. The HTC One release date is expected to be mid-March at international level. Apple, for its part, has kept mum on the release of its new devices. (Rumours persist about an August 2013 release for iPhone 5s.)
