iPhone 6, iPhone 5S, and Rumored Budget Phone Delayed? iPhone 5S with 12-MP Camera
Even before any official announcements on the iPhone 6 release, reports are now showing that there may be a delay in the release and availability of Apple's awaited devices: the iPhone 6, the iPhone 5S, and its budget iPhone.
"iPhone 5S is having preproduction issues with mass production at least a month or more away. This, combined with the publicly discussed delay of iOS 7 puts a July availability at risk," said Peter Misek, Jefferies analyst to CNet. "We continue to believe there is almost no chance the iPhone 6 [will launch] in [2013] due to supply chain issues."
Even the rumored iPhone Mini, dubbed to be the budget phone is looking at production problems.
According to iDownloadBlog, the plastic shell casing that's supposedly slimmer is giving manufacturing more problems than solutions.
"The slimmer casing may make it more difficult to ramp up production yields of coating and surface treatment, and could slow down the shipment timetable," said KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo to iDownloadBlog.
Whether the manufacturing issues will be solved and with proper budgeting costs to meet the then-rumored $99 to $149 price release of the budget phone remains to be seen.
iPhone 5S may come with a 12-MP camera and features
On a more optimistic note, reports say that the iPhone 5S will come with a much better camera this time around.
Compared to the poor trend that the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 followed, Digital Trends reports that there is a chance that the iPhone 5S will have a 12-megapixel camera, a big jump from its meager 8-megapixel for the iPhone 5.
Though it's still not the highest in the smartphone wars--Samsung, Sony Xperia, and LG all have 13-megapixels in their flagship phones--there's also a chance that Apple is waiting for its iPhone 6 to deliver an even better set of camera specs.
Aside from better camera pixels, the iPhone 5S will also feature improvements on low-light conditions, allowing night shooting to come out better as expected.
For what it's worth, the iPhone 5 already produces great-quality resolutions in their photos, when compared with flagship competitors. Hopefully, the added improvement will keep it on top of the pack.
