After the recent launch of the latest smartphones by Apple, rumour mills have started churning information and expectation from the next iteration - the iPhone 6. A new patent from the company allows celebrities to digitally sign on media content via an app.

Authors will be able to digitally sign on eBooks, singers and movie stars may be able to sign on other digital media available on the users' iOS device. The app could be made available on both the iPad and the iPhone.

With most of the celebrities taking to social media in order to connect with their fans or to promote their latest song, movie, or book, analysts speculate that the new technology could be a big hit.

The iPhone 6 is rumoured to be unveiled by early 2014, this gives Apple enough time to pack the phone with the next generation innovative features, to shock and awe the market.

Customers have been slow to accept the finger print technology the company recently unveiled, there have been concerns of identity theft and government snooping, using the technology, but this does not discount the innovative achievement of the company.

The digital autograph may not suffer from such security concerns, as it is given out by celebrities to the users. Celebrities generally do not use their real signatures, while signing autographs.

The digital autograph is sent via an Apple iOS device. A device like the iPhone 6 will need to be authenticated to ascertain that it belongs to a specific celebrity. Bluetooth technology can be used to send the digital autograph, provided that both the sender and the receiver are in close proximity.

The feature can be particularly appealing to popular book authors, who spend hours signing the books for fans, at special book signing events. Using this technology the author can simply create a field near his/her device to send the digital autograph to multiple devices.

The digital signature can be first sent to the cloud; it is authenticated and encrypted here before sending it to the verified user. The authentication and other credentials marking the genuineness of the digital autograph are also sent from the cloud.

The iPhone 6 could build on the security measures already available on the recently launched 5S, making it one of the most secure phones on the market. With a growing number of people using mobile banking, this feature could prove invaluable.

The iPhone 6 could be one of the most anticipated devices of 2014, as it is seen as a status symbol. Many customers also customise their Apple phones, to make it a personal statement.

The iPhone 5S for instance, is now available by private companies, in platinum and 24k real gold variants, studded with crystals. Click here to read about the super expensive customisation of the Apple phone for the uber-rich!
