Apple's latest patent activity suggests that the upcoming iPhone 6 could have upgraded features such as sonar and audio-detecting screen. The United States Patent and Trademark Office reportedly issued an application from the technology giant that enclosed the incorporation of audio sensors into the displays of its iDevices including the iPhone.

Patently Apple gave more information regarding the audio detection technology that could possibly be featured in iPhone 6.

"In one embodiment, Apple's invention may take on the form of an audio detection system having a display assembly. The display assembly may include a screen and at least one electromagnetic energy emitter configured to direct energy at an inside surface of the screen," claimed the Patently Apple.

"The described invention states that at least one sensor could be configured to sense the emitted energy after it is reflected from the inside surface of the screen and generate electrical signals corresponding the sensed reflected energy," the web site further stated.

Details on how these sensors will be used are not identified but speculations suggest that Apple could possibly use them in creating sonar-maps similar to the movie "The Dark Knight."

In October, Apple made exclusive rights with the use of sonar for proximity detection reasons like turning off touch screen functions when the smart phone is close to the face. This technology may be able to help device users without proper vision through warnings of upcoming objects on their trail.

Apple also reasoned out that this extraordinary function could expand to other amazing phone features such as drop-detection. A number of portable hard drives apply the drop-detection feature to extract the spindles from their discs when they drop down and eventually avoid destructing the memory.

It is not easy determining the exact degree to which this advanced technology will be set out in the upcoming iPhone 6. However, Apple is considering the idea of releasing a high-tech next generation smart phone.
