Irina Shayk And Alessandra Ambrosio To Fly To Dubai For The Opening Of Australian Chef Greg Malouf’s Restaurant
Supermodels Irina Shayk and Alessandra Ambrosio will fly to Dubai. They will headline an event for Clé Dubai, a restaurant that features Middle Eastern cuisine owned by Australian celebrity chef Greg Malouf.
According to Arabian Business, the organisers of the event have confirmed Shayk and Ambrosio's attendance. Malouf's restaurant will be located at the Podium level of Al Fattan Currency House. The weekly business Dubai magazine didn't elaborate further on Shayk and Ambrosio's appearance on Clé Dubai opening, only that it will happen on Oct. 13.
In an article by Hotelier Middle East in August, Malouf said that he has always dreamt of cooking Middle Eastern cuisine. He said that Dubai is going to be his home and his new destination. "This is a place where I can put Middle Eastern cuisine on a pedestal," Malouf said. "Cle's food is truly an expression of an ancient culture done graciously and generously," he added.
Malouf was born in Melbourne to Lebanese parents. He was reportedly inspired by Claudia Roden's Book of Middle Eastern Food. It was one of the reasons why Malouf decided to seek more information on the festive dishes that Middle Eastern food offers. He went to different countries such as France, Italy, Hong Kong, and Austria to complete his training. When Malouf returned to Melbourne, he became the executive chef of MoMo restaurant.
Australian chef and restaurateur Alla Wolf-Tasker has said that Malouf has greatly contributed to the culinary history of one of the wealthiest nations in the world. "Greg Malouf was the instigator of Middle Eastern cuisine in Australia."
After the launch of Clé Dubai, Malouf will release a new book. According to the chef's Web site, he recently collaborated with his ex-wife Lucy Malouf to produce his latest book, which is based on Middle Eastern vegetarian cuisine. It will be launched in November 2014. Malouf has previously written six books, namely, "Saraban: A Chef's Journey Through Persia," "Turquoise: A Chef's Travel in Turkey," "Saha: A Chef's Journey Through Lebanon and Syria," "Moorish: Flavours from Mecca to Marrackech," "Arabesque: Modern Middle Eastern Food," and "Malouf: New Middle Eastern Food."
