The famous chart-topping boy band from Ireland has announced that they amicably decided to part ways.

The Irish boy group of four is made up of handsome members Nicky Byrne, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan and Shane Filan. The band was first launched in the music industry comprising of originally five members but Brian McFadden left the group to focus more on a solo career in 2004. Westlife gave their fans an unforgettable experience with the group's final performance this year on their homecoming concert which was held at Dublin's Croke Park.

Westlife released a statement regarding their decision on the group's split after being together for an amazing 14 years.

"The decision is entirely amicable and after spending all of our adult life together so far, we want to have a well-earned break and look at new ventures. We see the greatest hits collection and the farewell tour as the perfect way to celebrate our incredible career along with our fans. We are really looking forward to getting out on the tour and seeing our fans one last time," the statement that was released by the Irish group read.

According to BBC reports, around 80,000 certified Westlife fans became a part and watched the group's farewell show during the weekend. It is also reported that their final performance will be screened in cinemas and then showed in Ireland, United Kingdom and across Europe. Westlife belted out for the last time all of their hit songs with a performance that lasted for more than two hours.

"As this is the very last Westlife concert, the whole idea was to be able to get out here and see our fans one last time and celebrate 14 years," Westlife member Kian told the crowd.

Meanwhile, his band mate Mark Feehily also expressed his thoughts on how Westlife fans made their dreams for 14 years come true.

"This show is dedicated to each and every one of you. Our fans mean so much. You have never stopped supporting us. Thanks so much. You're not just our fans. You are our friends and have been with us each step of the way," Feehily said.
