The Australian Iron Chef host is admittedly non-foodie. But Sunrise weatherman Grant Denyer can't be blamed for not being a foodie, after all he had lived "on the road" for his previous job.

"Living on the road with Sunrise, my cuisine consists of two-minute noodles and chiko rolls. I'm going to enjoy being inspired by great food and talented chefs. It's a huge honour to be involved," Denyer was quoted by the Sydney Morning Herald, as saying.

At least, the new Iron Chef Australia host proved honest when he said "as green as a capsicum when it comes to food."

The Australian version of the cult Japanese cooking television show is set to film in Melbourne within the month with three of Australia's top chef battling it out against young chefs. Melbourne's Guy Grossi, Rockpool's Neil Perry and Bennelong's Guillaume Brahimi from Sydney will appear regulary in the series as the Iron chefs.

Food critics Leo Schofield, The Age's Larissa Dubecki and The Daily Telegraph's Simon Thomsen will compose the judging panel. Food writer and Fairfax contributor Richard Cornish will join Denyer for commentaries on the show.
