ISIS Allegedly Converts Churches Into Torture Dungeons, Steals Christian Relics as Part of 'Religious Cleanse'
ISIS has allegedly transformed churches in Iraq and Syria into their own torture chambers and dungeons after militants have removed priceless religious artifacts to be sold in the black market. Entire murals in Christian churches and other relics are reportedly being smuggled out using the same routes ISIS use for moving oil and weapons.
Jay Sekulow, the author of "Rise of ISIS: A Threat We Can't Ignore" and connected with the American Centre for Law and Justice, told Fox News that ISIS is determined to wipe out Christianity in the world. He claimed this is the reason why Christians are being "crucified" including children.
Reports are not clear what specific items are being sold in exchange for more funding. The group has already destroyed monuments, churches and persecuted religious groups who are not willing to convert to Islam. According to terror experts, the smuggling of religious relics may be motivated by money or the need to "cleanse" the region or caliphate of any Christian symbols.
ISIS' plans of wiping out Christianity appears to be true based on the exclusive access given to a Western journalist. German author and journalist Juergen Todenhoefer travelled deep into the territory of ISIS to see firsthand what life is like under the militants' rule. Todenhoefer noted that ISIS has become more "dangerous" and there was a special kind of enthusiasm among ISIS militants. He told CNN that when he stayed in the recruitment house, 50 new fighters would arrive daily. He described a "glow" in their eyes which he could not believe. He could see the recruits were enthusiastic as they felt like they have arrived in a promised land.
In one of his interviews with a foreign fighter, he was told that ISIS will conquer Europe one day. The German native turned ISIS fighter said it was only a matter of time as the group's expansion will be perpetual. The people who will refuse to convert to Islam or pay Islamic tax "will be killed."
The author left the ISIS territory with a chilling observation that the group has grown more dangerous than world leaders realise. Militants believe in what they were fighting for as ISIS prepares for a massive "religious cleansing campaign" the world has seen.
