A man from New Zealand who declared he was joining the jihad in Syria has requested the government for a new passport since he burned the one he had and posted a photo of its remains on Facebook. Kiwi jihadi Mark John Taylor told Aotearoa Independent Media Centre that he planned on leaving Syria and going back to New Zealand around late October.

However, reports said the New Zealand government has not replied to his request. Taylor said in an interview that he went to Syria for "adventure jihad" but realised when he arrived that Syria needed humanitarian aid more.

Since going to Syria, Taylor adopted the name Mohammad Daniel or also known as Abu Abdul-Rahman. He previously declared he will be in Syria until he becomes a martyr. Taylor said he joined the jihad because the New Zealand army refused him for re-enlistment.

Taylor claimed in a report by The Australian that the only group he joined was Al-Qaeda and posted several photos of himself carrying a gun on social media. New Zealand's Internal Affairs department declined to reveal if it received the Kiwi jihadi's application for a new passport. A spokesman for the intelligence community also refused to confirm if the government has had contact with Taylor.

Taylor is not the only one who was attracted to join the jihad in Syria. Two European teen jihadis who left Syria to join ISIS are reportedly pregnant. According to reports, 16-year-old Samra Kesinovic and 15-year-old Sabina Selimovic declared in their respective social media accounts that they were alive in Syria and pregnant as well.

Kesinovic was believed to be dead when earlier reports emerged that she was slain in combat. New reports said the two Austrian girls were married to Chechen fighters in Syria. Interpol and Austrian police continue to search for the truth. Austrian officials blamed ISIS as the culprits behind the girls' statements. They believe the Islamic State militants will not allow the teens to use social media.

Officials will not confirm if either one of the girls is alive or pregnant since the investigation is ongoing. Authorities believe ISIS is using the two girls to recruit the youth and join the fight against the West.
