ISIS Video Shows Child Executes 2 Russian Spies
From holding decapitated heads chopped off by their father, young Islamic extremists have moved up to doing the execution themselves, a new Islamic State, or IS, video claims. The video, titled Uncovering an Enemy Within, shows a long-haired young IS fighter aiming the gun at two kneeling men identified as Russian spies caught by the group infiltrating the IS, reports USA Today.
The video, which appears to have been deleted by YouTube, was released by SITE Monitoring Service, although its authenticity remains in question. It showed both men admitting they are Russian spies tasked to gather more information on the IS.
Sputnik News identifies them as Jambulat Mamaev and Sergei Ashimov. One said his assignment was to gather intelligence data on one of the IS leader and steal vital information, while the other said he has been tasked to kill a senior IS commander.
"Allah has gifted the Islamic States's security agency with the apprehension of these two spies ... By Allah's grace, they are now in the custody of the lion cubs of the Caliphate," said the boy's companion, an adult IS fighter with a Kalashnikov rifle.
The boy-executioner, who shot the two Russians in the back of the head, has previously appeared in past IS videos showing training of young recruits. He is from Kazakhstan and said in the older video that he wants to kill traitors when he grows up.
The Federal Security Service, or FSB, of Russia did not comment on the video. Sputnik said, however, that the FSB doesn't operate outside of Russia.
While the video is cause for celebration in Syria and Iraq, it has sparked global disgust for the IS again, said Undercover Jihadi author Mubin Sheikh who recalls his experiences when he penetrated terror groups in Canada. It comes when there is heightened global distrust in Islam followers, especially the extremist groups such as IS and al-Qaeda in the aftermath of the Paris Massacre when 12 staffers of the French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo were killed by gunmen with links to both Middle Eastern groups.
