The medical phenomenon called penis captivus claimed an Italian couple as its latest victims. This is the situation when a woman's genitals captures the private parts of her male partner's anatomy while engaged in sexual intercourse.

Such a rare condition in itself is embarrassing as medical assistance is often required for the stuck couple. However, in the case of the young Italian couple, it was a double dose of red faces as the condition struck them while lovemaking in the waters of a Porto San Giorgio beach in Italy, reports Vamshare on Saturday.

Their situation was worsened by being immersed in water which reportedly suctioned the couple together. The duo remained locked until a woman with a towel came and helped the pair walk to the shore where a medic called by beachgoers brought them to a local hospital.

Doctors injected the woman to help dilate her cervix and free her partner. The injection was that normally given to pregnant women to dilate their cervix for childbirth.

Cosmopolitan reports of a similar situation in Zimbabwe where a couple were locked for seven hours before they were separated with the help of the man's father.

A few years ago, a similar rumour hounded a Filipino celebrity pair who allegedly were rushed to a Manila hospital wrapped in blanket. However, the young actor and actress denied the incident happened.
