It’s a Boy!: Monaco Princess Caroline’s Daughter, Charlotte Casiraghi, Welcomes First Child
Princess Caroline of Monaco's daughter Charlotte Casiraghi gave birth to her first child.
The palace announced the birth Wednesday. In the low key announcement, it was declared that Charlotte Casiraghi gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Raphael. Baby Raphael, a first child for unmarried Charlotte and a second for her Franco-Moroccan partner Gad Elmaleh, was born on Tuesday evening at Monaco's Princess Grace Hospital.
Charlotte and the famous French actor and comedian have long been rumoured to be in a relationship, which was only made public in this year. The two officially stepped out as a couple at Monaco's Rose Ball, the most important social season for the Monaco royalty. Rumours of the two tying the knot have been squashed recently when Gad Elmaleh told People magazine that a wedding with Charlotte may happen "one day".
However, Elmaleh assured that Charlotte had all the qualities required for being a mother. "She will be the best in the world because she is generous and very loving. She has all the gifts for being a mother. She's precious and very loving and kind," he said.
Charlotte is the second child of Princess Caroline and the late Italian businessman Stephano Casiraghi. Although not a princess herself, she is fifth in line to the throne of Monaco. Her mother, Princess Caroline, is the eldest child of the late Prince Rainier III and the late American actress Grace Kelly.
Baby Raphael is his grandma's second grandson. Princess Caroline has another grandson who was born in March. Her first grandson is the child of her son Andrea and Tatiana Santo Domingo, a South American heiress.
Charlotte is a famous personality in Monaco. Inheriting the glamorous looks and sense of style from her mother and grandmother, she became the face of Gucci's riding collection. Moreover, she has been doing spreads for various magazines across Europe.
