The new TV series “iZombie” is set for a release date of March 17. The executive producers have revealed, in a video, how the protagonist turns into a zombie in the premiere episode. The viewers will also meet the “love of her life,” her boss at work and the detective she will eventually help solve crimes, in the pilot episode. [Warning: Spoilers Alert]

The premiere episode of the show will focus on how a medical student gets turned into a zombie after a boat massacre. Olivia ‘Liv’ Moore, played by Rose McIver, is the protagonist of the TV series, who has her life changed after the boat massacre.

The executive producers Diane Ruggiero-Wright and Rob Thomas revealed in the video that Olivia will have to let go of the “love of her life” because she has turned into a zombie. The only other alternative for her is to turn her boyfriend into a zombie, too.

Olivia’s friends in “iZombie” believe that she is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, after the boat massacre incident. The character soon turns pale in colour and develops a taste for eating human brain. Her job at the morgue allows her to indulge in her new taste without getting discovered. Her boss at work isn’t disturbed by the fact that his subordinate is a zombie.

Eating human brains gives Olivia glimpses of the memories of the dead person. When detective Clive Babineaux comes asking questions about a case, Olivia offers her insight and helps solve the case. This prompts the rookie detective to enlist her support again to see if her success in the first case was a “one trick pony.”

There are some risks that come with Olivia’s new role in solving crimes in “iZombie.” Detective Babineaux is not very understanding of zombies and may not hesitate to attack her if he discovers the truth. She comes very close to getting discovered, after getting shot in front of him.

The other interesting aspect about “iZombie” is that Olivia is not the only zombie in the TV series. She will soon discover that there is man who is just like her. The premiere episode of the show will show how the character will learn to adjust to her new life as a zombie and solve crimes at the same time.
