Now this is the John Wall the NBA fans have been waiting for. The Washington Wizards franchise player is apparently turning the corner—to superstardom, basing on his recent stats—and has towed the team back to respectability at this point of the regular season.

Wall and the Wizards hosted the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night in a battle between teams that has found some sort of rhythm in their recent games: Washington has won three of their last four games, while the Lakers are riding a three-game winning streak.

The Wizards point guard had a season-high 37 points in a 96-88 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Friday. He was efficient everywhere, shooting 15-of-21 from the field, including two 3-pointers and adding 6 rebounds and 3 steals as well.

Wall followed up that performance with another great game the night after against the New York Knicks. The Wizards notch the 98-89 victory as the 23-year-old delivered with 31 points (10/18 FGs, 10/11 FTs), 7 assists and 2 steals.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers has found surprise contributors in their recent run. Jordan Hill had 24 points and 17 rebounds in their 114-99 blowout win versus Detroit; Nick Young had 21 points and 2 steals in the 102-95 victory against Golden State; and Xavier Henry had 21 points in a 100-86 win versus Sacramento.

Still without Kobe Bryant, the Lakers will again look for other to step up and help Pau Gasol, who averages 14.3 PPG, 10.6 RPG and 1.2 BPG this season.
