Jack Bauer is Back! ’24: Live Another Day’ to Premiere on May
Jack Bauer is back and lives another day in "24" limited event television series that is set to premiere on May 5, 2014. Kiefer Sutherland is back filming the prequel of "24" series that ended in May 2010 and will reprise his role as Jack Bauer in the new "24: Live Another Day" series.
After eight seasons of "24" the new prequel of the show is scheduled to premiere on Fox with a two-hour episode on May 5. After the premiere, the show is set to follow it up with 11 one-hour episodes featuring London as the new film set.
"It will be cool to see the Tower of London in the background," says Sutherland on his new location. But the actor has his apprehensions about shooting to a new location, "traffic there is very difficult. We plan to be shooting outside. I'm sure we'll be hated by a large portion of London for snarling up their traffic, and for that I apologise in advance."
"24: Live Another Day" hasn't begun filming yet but the new season will feature new stars and villains that will test Jack Bauer's loyalty to his country. "Chuck" star Yvonne Strahovski will play Kate Morgan, a brilliant but impulsive CIA field operative searching for Bauer. The new series will pick up several years after the events in the final season of "24."
"Jack is still hunted when the show begins," reveals executive producer Manny Coto. "What will come today is a character, a CIA agent, who has been on the hunt for Jack. The show will open with that dynamic - a CIA agent hunting Jack where in their minds he's not quite Osama Bin Laden, but he's a fugitive of high order."
Another new face in the series is "Law & Order" alum Benjamin Bratt as he plays Steve Harries, the head of the CIA operations who are hunting Bauer. Bratt's character will oversee see Strahovski's Kate Morgan, Giles Matthey as Jordan Reed and Gbenga Akinnagbe as Erik Ritter.
Familiar faces will also grace the new season of "24," Mary Lynn Rajskub will reprise her role as Chloe O'Brian, William Devane as James Heller and Kim Raver as Audrey Raines. But these old faces will play a new character as Chloe and Jack will not be working together, but against each other.
