"Jackass 3D" rakes in $8.42 million, passes $100 million mark over the weekend
Jackass 3D pulled in another $8.42 million in the box office this week, bringing its total gross to $101.57 million.
Jackass 3D passed the $100 million mark last Sunday, even as it drops two spots in the box office ranking since its opening in mid-October.
Steve-O, one of the "jackass" in the popular franchise, recently told In Touch: "Our reactions are what makes the stunts work: Being clear-clear headed, I was apprehensive and felt everything more!"
With Jackass 3D's unexpected success in the box office (it's budget is estimated at $20 million), the franchise will reportedly release a DVD of scenes which has not made it to the screen.
Last month, Bam Margera said that Jackass 3.5 will be released January next year, It is no yet known whether Jackass 3.5 will be an extended theatrical re-release of Jackass 3D. Prior to the theatrical release of Jackass 3D, Johnny Knoxville said they had shot two movies worth of material, and they will be coming out of a "whole new DVD" early next year, with scenes that did not make it to the final cut.
However, with the unexpected success of Jackass 3D, speculations are ripe that Jackass 3.5 may get a theatrical release.
