Women's Executive Network has released its top 100 list for the year 2013, to honour the most powerful women in Canada. The list consists of leading personalities from public, private and non-profit sectors. Here are some of the names that led the country this year.

Jacqui Allard (Manulife Financial Corp.)

Ms Allard is the CIO and Head of Operations of Manulife. She deals with technology functions and global investment for the company's investment division. She has not been a part of the company for a long time as she joined only in 2008. She holds a bachelor's degree in history and economics from the Queen's University in Kingston. In addition, she also garnered an MBA from the Graduate School of Business in Waltham.

Elyse Allen (GE Canada)

Ms Allen became a part of GE Canada in 1984 and presently she is the President and CEO of GE Canada. She has covered lighting, energy and aviation in several consumer and industrial businesses in Canada and in the U.S. She holds an honorary doctorate degree from Saint Mary's University in Halifax and Ryerson University, Toronto.

Shauneen Bruder (Royal Bank of Canada)

Ms Bruder is the Executive Vice-President - Operations in the Royal Bank of Canada. She is responsible for overseeing everyday management policies on a global level. Previously, she was appointed as the chairperson of the Canadian American Business Council and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. She received the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012.

Amiee Chan (Norsat International Inc)

Ms Chan is the President and CEO of Norsat International Inc. She has managed to expand the product portfolio of the company substantially by tripling the revenue of the company. Under her guidance, the company was able to complete the acquisition of Sinclair Technologies Inc. (worth $18.5 million) in 2011.

Caroline Charter (Oracle Corp.)

Ms Charter is the Vice-President of Oracle Corp. In addition, she also holds the responsibility as the strategic partner and sales engagement for the company. She was instrumental in designing and launching the Oracle Partner Store in 2011. The store supports US$3 billion annually. Ms Charter holds lectures to several women groups worldwide.

Other prominent names in the list include Mary De Paoli (Sun Life Financial Corp.), Christine Day (Lululemon Athletica Inc.), Betty DeVita (MasterCard Canada), Judy Goldring (AGF Management Ltd.), Janet Holder (Enbridge Inc.), and Christina Kramer.
