Jameis Winston Celebrated Heisman Trophy Win with Fans at a Bar in NYC

Jameis Winston of Florida State Seminoles was awarded the Heisman Trophy Award at a ceremony held in New York on Dec. 14. The award is an honour that comes in the midst of persistent queries about a rape accusation which according to some analysts has made him unappealing over his claim to the popular prize.

The judge already refused to file a criminal charge on Winston. However, the legal representative of Winston's complainant held a press conference a day prior the Heisman Trophy awarding to excite the rape accusation story.

Nevertheless, Winston bagged the trophy among the other 5 finalists such as Jordan Lynch, Tre Meson, Johnny Manziel, AJ McCarron and Andre Williams. Williams became the third player from Florida State to have won the most celebrated individual award given in college football.

"I'm so overwhelmed," said Winston upon accepting the trophy. "It's awesome," he added. "I cannot explain the feeling that I have inside right now," he said.

Winston tallied 1,501 points ahead of University of Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback AJ McCarron. It was said to be the "seventh-largest margin of victory in the history of Heisman Trophy." Northern Illinois Huskies' quarterback Jordan Lynch, Boston College Eagles' running back Andre Williams, Texas A&M Aggies' quarterback Johnny Manziel, and Auburn Tigers' Tre Mason were in third, fourth, fifth and sixth places, respectively. Manziel was the first freshman to have won the Heisman Trophy in 2012.

Winston is the second freshman to win the award. He is also the youngest player to win the award, at 19 years old.

Winston celebrated his Heisman victory with fans and some of his close friends on Saturday evening at a bar in New York City. According to TMZ, Winston came to Saloon Bar at past 12 o'clock in the evening. His girlfriend was also by his side. Winston looked in high spirits and was all smiles as he posed for pictures with his fans in the bar.
