James Bond: Spectre Script Leaked In Sony Hacking Attack
This is for the first time James Bond is facing a villain in real life as well. The producers of "James Bond: Spectre" have confirmed that its script has been stolen in the recent Sony hacking scandal.
It was earlier reported that Sony Pictures' Entertainment's servers were hacked on Nov. 25, leading to great chaos. Numerous confidential emails and information about major Hollywood movies leaked online and became public. North Korean hacking gang 'Guardians of Peace' has taken the responsibility of this attack to show their protest against Sony's "The Interview."
Following the scandal, it is now revealed that the earlier version of the screenplay of "Spectre" was also among the material which was leaked in the hacking. The producers of the movie, Eon Production has discovered this fact quite recently and is concerned that third parties who might find this material may leak it further by publishing or making it public.
An official statement has been released by Eon Productions on its official website. "The screenplay for Spectre is the confidential information of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios and Danjaq, LLC, and is protected by the laws of copyright in the United Kingdom and around the world," states the official statement.
As per leaked emails and other information obtained by Screenrant, Sony is struggling very hard to keep the budget of 24th James Bond movie under control. Last flick in the franchise "Skyfall" was made using $200 million and it was expected by industry's experts that the next movie will exceed this budget, seeing the huge success of the movie.
It is now speculated that the movie will cost an exorbitantly high amount of $300 million or more in making. On top of it, if the story or plot gets leaked online, it would be a major blow to Sony. Title and cast of the film was made official recently which definitely gave a head-on to the fans to assess in which direction the 24th sequel is headed. However, if the whole script becomes public, it will be a major disaster to the entire team associated with James Bond franchise.
"Spectre" will see Daniel Craig as 007 and is set for release on Nov. 6, 2015. Filming has already started this Dec 8, under producer Barbara Broccoli and director Sam Mendes.
