‘James Dean molested as a child’, confessed Elizabeth Taylor in 1997 interview with Kevin Sessums
Elizabeth Taylor swore journalist Kevin Sessums to secrecy to keep it a secret the confession made to her by actor, James Dean who claimed he was molested by a minister at age 11.
Hollywood legend, Elizabeth Taylor had revealed in a 14-year-old interview that her ‘Giant’ co-star and equally popular actor, James Dean confessed to her of childhood molestation he suffered from a minister at age 11.
Keeping his promise to the movie icon, journalist Kevin Sessums only published his 1997 interview with Taylor only last Friday, March 26 - - a day after the private funeral services held for the actress Thursday afternoon.

"I loved Jimmy. I'm going to tell you something, but it's off the record until I die. OK?,” The Agence France Presse quoted Elizabeth Taylor as disclosing to best-selling author Kevin Sessums which the journalist wrote in an article published for The Daily Beast online last Friday.
The legendary icon said Sessums swore him to secrecy that no word about Dean’s abuse would come out until her death.
Sessums noted that his interview with the actress was originally intended to discuss about her advocacy and other humanitarian work on HIV/ AIDS for POZ magazine, a US magazine noted AFP, magazine for people with with HIV and AIDS.
But the actress he said, told her of Dean’s plight after his mother died.
"When Jimmy was 11 and his mother passed away, he began to be molested by his minister. I think that haunted him the rest of his life. In fact, I know it did. We talked about it a lot,” the actress said, according to the article written by Sessums.
The article added, “During ‘Giant’ we'd stay up nights and talk and talk, and that was one of the things he confessed to me," she said, referring to the movie in which Taylor and Dean co-starred.
The journalist said that Taylor brought her secret to her grave. The legendary actress died on March 24 at the Los Angeles hospital surrounded by her family. She was buried less than 48 hours later at Forest Lawn Memorial park near her friend, Michael Jackson.
