Forcillo has already been suspended during the period in which the investigation may continue.
Forcillo has been asked to surrender Tuesday, according to the statement issued by the SIU. It is the same day he is supposed to appear in the court. Forcillo has reported been subject to threats. That is why the SIU is not going to disclose the location where he is going to be arrested.
The statement of the family of Sammy Yatim followed soon after the SIU issued their statement. The Yatim family expressed relief to know that Forcillo has been held responsible and asked to surrender.
The statement of the Yatim family was disclosed to media. It said that they had been patiently waiting so far as they co-operated completely with the police as well. The family further stated that everyone who was responsible for Sammy's demise must be held accountable.
On the other hand, the Yatim family asked the SIU not to ignore the role of other officers who witnessed the killing of their young child. Sammy's sister earlier tweeted regarding the statement of the family. She tweeted soon after it was known that Forcillo had been charged.
Sarah Yatim, the sister of the deceased young man - Sammy Yatim, tweeted with the information that the officer had been charged with a 2nd degree murder. She seemed to be ecstatic to come to know about the update as she bid good morning to justice in the same tweet.
