Barely a month after he created his Twitter account, former Oscar host and actor, James Franco has found no need for the social media as he deleted his account.

“Social media is over. Still up there. Going down. You heard it here first,” James Franco was quoted as telling Politico during a benefit event for creative writing nonprofit held last week.

According to MSNBC Today, the actor told Politico that he thought he could do anything he wanted to do in Twitter.

The Times of India said that the 32-year-old “27-Hours” star paraded his Hollywood lifestyle on his Twitter. He was last seen posting a photo of him surrounded by naked women during a film shoot.

But his conduct has raised much ire when he tweeted a photo showing a protruding object out of an open fly of his jeans.

The actor also shortly engaged in a social media war with Oscars writer , Bruce Vilanch posting yet another inappropriate picture depicting the ongoing feud with the writer.

Though he later apologized to Vilanch and subsequently deleted the picture, the damage has already been done.

The list could go on as to how Franco has been using his Twitter that has elicited doubts on his behavior.

Franco has earlier asserted to Politico: “My thought was, ‘This is my Twitter. I can do whatever I want.’”

The move was reportedly prompted by the companies he was working with which talked to him about his tweets.

“But certain companies I work with contacted me about what I was saying,” Franco said, according to MSNBC Today.

Franco created his account shortly before Oscars, even incorporating in his first-time hosting stint the use of social media in promoting events such as the Academy Award.
