James Franco Never Wants to Rest On His Laurels: What's He Been Up To This Time?
There is always something new to look forward to when you read about James Franco in the entertainment news every day. Just the other day, the world woke up learning that the "127 Hours" actor left the set of "The Garden of Last Days". The next day you read about his plans to direct an adaptation of William Faulkner's 'The Sound And The Fury'; and today, he just crossed over music news because he had graffitied Kanye West's 'Yeezus' album artwork.
"I was asked to get axed in an American Psycho-themed commercial for Kanye, but instead of getting cut up, I made a cut-up American Psycho piece for him," he said in an interview with GQ.
Did it satisfy his ego knowing that he's still part of West's 'encouraging' promotion of "Yeezus"?
In other James Franco news, the multi-talented actor will be the target of Comedy Central's annual Roast on U.S. Labor Day. The Roast puts featured guests in a no-holds-barred interview, which sometimes put them in an awkward situation, unless they managed to put on a good mask at laughing at the jokes thrown at them. Celebrities that been roasted in the past were Charlie Sheen, Pamela Anderson and David Hassellhoff.
According to Comedy Central president Kent Alterman, "If only James Franco was a more successful, multi-hyphenated, incessant creative risk taker in different media, he'd be the perfect person to roast. Oh well... I suppose we'll just have to make do."
And Franco, who always wants to have his name everywhere, invites everyone to this TV event. "Hey, yo, what's up? I'm going to get roasted on Comedy Central. Be sure to check it out. They wanted me to tell you that. All right. Ha ha," he announced via Instagram video.
Obviously, his disastrous 2011 Academy Awards hosting stint with Anne Hathaway will be one of the many jokes to be thrown at home.
So who do you think should roast James Franco?
Meanwhile, his comedy apocalypse horror movie This Is The End, directed by Seth Rogen, hits Australian theatres on July 18th.
