The actor studies even while he makes movies and this time he’s out to publish his first novel. Question is, is there anything James Franco cannot do?

Everyone has seen him work in front of the camera and everyone knows James Franco is one hell of an actor. Apart from working in front of the camera, well he’s also great at working behind it. This 33-year old actor is not only a producer and a graduate student but apparently he’s also a novelist.

After working on his novel for quite a while now, James Franco has apparently signed a deal with Amazon Publishing to release his novel entitled “Actors Anonymous.” Friends and fans of the actor however will have to wait until 2013. The spokesman for Amazon may have declined to say how much the deal was for the book itself but they have claimed its release by the next year.

Surprisingly, “Actors Anonymous” is not James Franco’s first handiwork at fiction. Back in June, the Oscar host released his book of short stories entitled “Palo Alto” which was published by Scribner. According to a few book critics, Franco’s book lacked depth and insight which is quite questionable and different to what his professors and co-stars say of him when he works in front of the camera and in the classroom.

Who would dare say otherwise? James Franco may not be a pure genius but daresay he is quite talented. To think he managed to pursue a Ph.D. in literature in Yale and an M.A. degree in creative writing at Columbia plus a degree in filmmaking at the New York University Tisch School for the Creative Arts all the while acting, hosting and producing is definitely something worth mentioning.

As for James Franco’s first novel which was acquired by Amazon fiction editor, Ed Park, and also founding editor of the book “The Believer,” is basically Franco’s take on his life. Well, if it is a novel about him then surely there would be a lot of buyers and readers ready to pounce on it once it hits the shelves by 2013.
