James MacArthur, "Hawaii Five-O" actor, dies at 72
James MacArthur, the actor who played Hawaii Five-O's Danny "Danno" Williams in the original television show, died today, at the age of 72.
McArthur portrayed Danny "Danno" Williams in Hawaii Five-O for eleven years, from 1968 to 1980. Hawaii Five-O episodes often end with lead character Steve McGarrett, then played by the late Jack Lord, turning to James MacArthur's character, saying: "Book 'em, Danno."
After leaving leaving Hawaii Five-O, McArthur appearedd on other television shows such as Murder, She Wrote, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island and Vega$. He was last seen on The Age of Believing: The Disney Live Action Classics.
MacArthur died in Florida of natural causes. He is survived by his third wife, H. B. Duntz, and his four children and six grandchildren.
