From Lincoln to Ultron

Spader was last seen in his critically acclaimed film "Lincoln" directed by Steven Speilberg. He gathered three Emmy awards from his hit TV shows "Boston Legal" and "The Practice."

'The Blacklist'

He is set to return to television this fall and this time with NBC's newest series "The Blacklist" as he plays America's number one terrorist.

Playing the villain for the Avengers movie sequel will not be as hard for James as he has a long list of odd to bad characters on his belt and worked with different directors including David Cronenberg, Mike Nichols, Tim Robbins, Steven Soderberg and Oliver Stone.

Can Spader be Ultron?

But many fans are questioning the choice of Joss Wheadon for the role, for it can limit Spader's ability to act as he is portraying an artificial intelligence. Fans are, however, hopeful that in this generation of super graphic interface and CGI technology, Spader's enigmatic screen presence could be transformed through Ultron's robotic features.

Whedon aired his reason for casting when he spoke to Entertainment Weekly magazine about the role.

Whedon says he loves Ultron's character because was one unhappy character aiming to quash humanity.

"As a character I love him, because he's so pissed off," Whedon says of Ultron, who has appeared in Marvel comics since 1968 in the Entertainment Weekly interview.

Ultron, according to Josh, will unlikely manifest some standard robot stuff."

This new sequel will have a fresh take from its original storyline and according to Whedon they will have their own version of the origin of Ultron. The original cast of heroes will be joining this sequel and fans around the world will be delighted to see them in May 2014.
