'Jane The Virgin' Cast Members Attend The 2015 Golden Globe Awards, Celebrate Lead Actress Gina Rodriguez's Win At Different Parties
The cast members of new CW TV series "Jane The Virgin" attended the 2015 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Jan. 11, to celebrate the success of the show with nominations for "Best Television Series" and "Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy." With lead star Gina Rodriguez (Jane Villanueva) taking home her first win, the 30-year-old actress' co-stars were with her to enjoy the evening at different parties.
According to a Just Jared Jr. report, actors Justin Baldoni (Rafael Solano) and Brett Dier (Michael Cordero Jr.), actress Gina Rodriguez's leading men in the CW TV series, attended the event. The two sandwiched their female co-star Gina Rodriguez while the photographers took pictures of the "Jane The Virgin" stars at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards red carpet.
The other "Jane The Virgin" cast members present at the awarding ceremony include Andrea Navedo (Jane's mom Xiomara), "Teen Wolf" actress Ivonne Coll (Jane's grandmother), Yael Grobglas (Petra Solano) and Jaime Camil (Jane's actor-father Rogelio de la Vega). Meanwhile, actress Gina Rodriguez revealed in an E!Online report that portraying the role of a virgin resulted to some fans asking her if she is a virgin. "Reporters have been very nice to me. I think it's normally the fans and watchers who wanna ask me, 'So, are you a virgin?' And I'm like, 'None of your business!' [Laughing] C'mon! Typecasting! Method acting!" Rodriguez shared during the 2015 Golden Globe Awards red carpet interview.
The CW star further revealed that her boyfriend, Henri Esteve, is not pleased with the personal question. "Talk to my boyfriend, he's really upset about it. Just kidding, it's inappropriate. It's all inappropriate!" the actress shared to Giuliana Rancic during the interview.
Gina Rodriguez explained that the success of "Jane The Virgin," which includes a renewal for second season and her Golden Globes win, has motivated her to work harder especially when there are people calling her as the "Next Big Thing." The 30-year-old actress admitted that she is currently empowered.
"I mean, when you get a title like that it's like, 'OK, back to the work.' You have to work very hard to prove you are deserving of that. So I go back to work tomorrow and I will continue to try and prove that I am worthy of that," Rodriguez declared. The actress will return as Jane Gloriana Villanueva in the second half of "Jane The Virgin" Season 1 on Monday night, Jan. 19, with episode 10 titled "Chapter Ten" airing at 9 p.m. ET/PT on the CW Network.
