'Jane The Virgin' Season 2, Episode 2 Recap: Team Michael Vs. Team Rafael

In this week’s episode of “Jane The Virgin,” Jane (Gina Rodriguez) is forced to make a decision between Rafael Solano (Justin Baldoni) and Michael Cordero (Brett Dier). Meanwhile, Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) and Rogelio (Jaime Camil) also try to figure out their relationship. Singer Kesha guest stars as Jane’s noisy new neighbour.

Jane has been easing into motherhood and has not had time to deal with the other issues in her life. Baby daddy Rafael and her ex-fiance Michael are both trying to give her some space while seeking her attention at the same time.

This leads into a “Bachelorette” scenario in the Villanueva household. Both Michael and Rafael are constantly popping in and out of the house to prove themselves and to get Jane’s attention. Even Jane’s mom and her grandmother are taking opposite sides.

Xiomara thinks that Jane should go for her handsome, responsible, sweet and reliable ex-fiance, Michael. Meanwhile, Abuela is going for the rich, handsome and sexy Rafael. When things get too tense, Jane is forced to make a decision. She isn’t ready to choose between the two men so she blurts out that she’s in love with them both.

The statement doesn’t go down too well with the guys, but they both come around eventually. Rafael uses the fact that he’s baby Mateo’s real father to get some leverage. Meanwhile, Michael is convinced that Jane only likes Rafael because she wants a complete family unit with the baby’s dad. The saga continues and the two men continue to wait for Jane’s final decision.

As if dealing with the men isn’t enough, Jane hasn’t been getting any sleep. Both she and her baby are constantly getting woken up by her new neighbours. Singer Kesha guest stars as a budding rocker, who has decided to set up her rehearsal studio in the house next door.

Jane and the neighbours get on each other’s nerves until Jane is forced to steal their amplifier. When Kesha threatens to press charges, Jane solves the situation by booking the band to perform at the Marbella.

Elsewhere, Xiomara and Rogelio are forced to perform together on a cruise ship. They skipped their Las Vegas show for the birth of Jane’s baby so they are now making up for it with the cruise ship performances.

While there, they start to get closer again and finally admit that they still love each other. Rogelio decides not to seek for an annulment for their drunk Las Vegas wedding. However, Xiomara disagrees. She sees that Rogelio still has issues from his cheating ex-wife. She agrees to keep seeing him but they need to work out their issues first.

While everyone is having relationship issues, Petra is trying to get hers back. She has inseminated herself with her ex-husband, Rafael’s sperm. She finds out that the procedure worked while Rafael also discovers what she’s done.

Things get even more complicated now that Petra appears to be having Rafael’s baby too. Find out what happens next when “Jane The Virgin” returns next Monday at 9:00 pm ET on The CW.
