Although Philippine pork barrel scam queen Janet Lim-Napoles is being pictured as Miss Piggy in caricatures and memes, she is far from living in a pig sty at the height of her wallowing in luxury and wealth.

Dominga Cadelina, her former maid whom Ms Lim-Napoles accused of stealing from her expensive branded bags, told ABS-CBN that one of her duties, aside from washing the clothes of the Napoles family, is to bathe the rags-to-riches woman in milk and then massage her, for which she was paid a monthly salary of P15,000.

The milk bath treatment brings to mind a similar health regime said to be a favourite of Egyptian princess Cleopatra, portrayed in the 1963 film by popular Hollywood actress Elizabeth Taylor.

It was also the beauty regime by a Filipina princess named Naranja, portrayed by comedienne Elizabeth Ramsey, in a 1959 film, in a bid to lighten her dark skin tone.

Ms Cadelina denied she stole the expensive items and P1 million from her employer and insisted it was a frame-up. One of the whistleblowers in the pork barrel scam is her daughter who is also employed by the Napoleses.
