American actor Jason Bateman made hundreds of Apple iPhone fans in Hollywood angry on Thursday when he was taken from a long line of waiting customers and accompanied straight into the store.

The "Hancock" star was one of the estimated 2,000 people lined up outside the Apple store at The Grove shopping mall who wanted to get a hold of the new iPhone 4, which went on sale Thursday morning.

His celebrity status worked for him when an Apple employee saw him on the line, went up to him, permitted him to go to the front of the line and walk straight inside the shop to buy his new phone.

Other customers, who have been patiently waiting for hours in the line, taunted and booed Bateman as he walked right past them.

Meanwhile, the white iPhone 4 was sold out on the eve of its launch, while the black ones still have plenty of stocks.
